Command reference

oko probes list

Prints every declared probe: the standing condition every run reads and the class defect its occurrences are noted on.

Invocation#

Command
oko probes list [--json]

Inputs and options#

  • The declarations ship with oko in probes.json. Each names its source (sessions, processes, frustration, commits, indexes or test-homes), its conditions (a JSON pointer into each row that is a value (is), is above another field of the same row (above), or is some: a positive number, a nonempty list, object or text, or true; some takes only true, and a field that must be empty is written with is), the fields that identify one occurrence (key), the fields its note quotes (evidence), and its class: product, shape, title, impact and the mechanism that removes it. A process probe names the directories under the home directory whose programs it reads (installedIn); an index probe names where in each checkout its indexes are (indexes: under, named, nested). The test-homes source reads the testHomes rows of `oko sessions orphans`; a root whose test home could not be examined fails that reading by name.
  • The declared probes: call-past-norm (a live session's running call stands past every completed call of its shape), unread-past-turn (a supervised session unread for longer than its longest turn any reading measured), operator-unanswered (a live session whose newest operator message has no answer after it, for longer than its longest measured turn; an answer is assistant text that is not an error, or an ask the session raised through oko asks after the message, read once per pass from the asks register; the sessions row carries it as probe.question {at, words} with probe.unansweredSeconds, and probe.questionUnread names a live transcript, or an asks register, that could not be read for it, which is never taken as answered; a newest prompt that is a harness wrapper, a product's typed prompt or Oko's handover is not the operator's), never-read (a supervised session never read), replaced-binary (a process started before its program was installed again), hookless-session (a live session without Tama's hooks), no-inbox-reader (a session held outside the broker that no process reads the inbox of), stopped-with-open-work (a stopped session holding owed tasks or unrepaired defects), supervisor-stopped-with-open-work (a live supervisor stopped while the register holds any open defect, its probe row's supervisedOpen), refused-commit (a git commit call in a session's transcript whose result is an error), repeated-explanation (a frustration moment whose words the operator had said before), index-missing-object (an index of a workspace checkout naming an object its store does not hold) and test-home-left-running (a process tree a test started still running after its test home was removed).

Output and state effect#

  • Reads the declarations only; nothing is written. Adding a condition is a declaration in probes.json, not code.

Refusals and safe exits#

  • A declarations file that cannot be read, a probe without its class fields, conditions, key or evidence, a condition giving other than exactly one of is, above or some, a condition giving some false, a field that is not a JSON pointer, a process probe without directories, an index probe without places, or a name declared twice refuses every command naming the declaration and the cause.
