Command reference

oko chat status

Reports actual bot authentication, conversation access and optional Socket Mode readiness.

Invocation#

Command
oko chat status --provider slack [--json] [--config PATH] [--channel C]

Inputs and options#

  • --provider names the chat workspace's provider; slack is the one Oko implements.
  • --json prints oko's report (oko chat status) as is; --config and --channel read display-only channel settings, never credentials.

Output and state effect#

  • oko reads bot_token and app_token of the oko-slack item as oko-slack-client, calls auth.test and pages conversations.list for direct messages and for channels, and asks apps.connections.open without opening a socket; Oko Desktop's automation screen shows the same report. No message is posted.
  • Each check carries Slack's own answer; failed credential reads carry operation, consumer, item, field, observed time and the refusal; no credential value is printed. When oko itself cannot run, the report is blocked with that error.

Refusals and safe exits#

  • Missing bot access or a failed readiness operation exits nonzero, including in JSON mode. --token, --app-token, missing values and unknown flags are refused.
